Lt. j.g. Madeline Swegle became the Navy's first black female tactical aircraft pilot this past July. After graduating from the Naval Academy in 2017, Swegle completed tactical air strike training on July 7, 2020, and was presented with her "Wings of Gold" on July 31. She is now a member of the "Vikings" of Electronic Attack Squadron #VAQ129 where she has begun training as an #EA18G Growler aviator. #FlyNavy#BlackHistoryMonth
