Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday

This February, during #BlackHistoryMonth, we celebrate the achievements of Black Americans and recognize their countless contributions to our nation. Throughout our

U.S. Navy

's history, generations of Black Americans have played a vital role in making our Navy strong! To those who forged ahead and broke through barriers – thank you. And to the those who serve selflessly day-in and day-out – we are grateful for all that you do. We must be a shining example of a workforce centered on respect, inclusive of all. We must demand of each other that we treat everyone with dignity and respect. If you won’t do that, then our Navy is not the best place for you. We are one team, and we are one Navy.
